Fencing

Brand and website work for a union fence contractor

Flynn Fence and Supply is a union fence contractor in West Chicago, IL, building commercial, industrial, and municipal fence across Chicagoland since 1938. Our work together started in 2018 with a logo, business cards, yard signs, and a one-page website built around one line: do fence right. In 2026 we rewrote and rebuilt the site so every service has its own page.

Client

Flynn Fence

What they do

Union commercial fence and gate installation, guardrail, fence rentals, and wholesale materials

What we did

Logo, business cards, yard signs, first website, site rewrite and rebuild

Built on

WordPress with Divi

What’s different

A green wordmark that works the same on a business card, a yard sign, and a website header.

A one-page site became dedicated pages for installation and repair, gates, guardrail, and wholesale materials.

Every page ends in a project form, so a contractor can send a bid request from wherever they land.

From a yard sign to a full site

Flynn’s brand started with a line short enough for a yard sign, and everything since has been built on it. Here’s how the work came together, from the first logo to the rebuild, where we wrote every page first and designed around the words.

01

Brand

A bold green FlynnFence wordmark over a clean rule and “and supply company,” plus business cards and yard signs with the phone number front and center.

02

First site

A one-page site with a chain-link hero photo and the line Do fence right, so Flynn had somewhere to send people.

03

New copy for every page

We wrote new copy for every page, from installation and gates to guardrail materials and the union story, with a search description for each one.

04

Rebuild site

We rebuilt the site with service cards, a list of the places Flynn works, and a project form at the bottom of every page.

The first site next to the rebuild

Here’s Flynn’s first website, one page with three short sections, next to the rebuild with a page for every service. Drag to compare.

What carried over, and what’s new

Flynn’s buyers are contractors, facility managers, and municipalities. They aren’t browsing for fun, so every choice is about getting them to the right service and the bid form quickly.

Proof by place

A Where We Work list names the kinds of sites Flynn fences, from data centers and sports fields to highways, schools, and correctional facilities.

Why it matters: A buyer sees their kind of project and knows Flynn has done it before.

The green they already had

The site keeps Flynn’s deep green and the 2018 wordmark, so it matches the cards and signs contractors already know.

Why it matters: Recognition carries over from the jobsite to the browser.

Union, front and center

The About page explains why union work matters and Flynn’s ties to Iron Workers Local 63.

Why it matters: On a lot of commercial and public jobs, union is a requirement, so it can’t be buried.

What each stage had to solve

Everything at once

When we started in 2018, Flynn needed a logo, business cards, signs, and a website, and all of it had to look like one company.

Selling to contractors

Most of Flynn’s work comes through general contractors, developers, and municipalities. They want to see union credentials and a clear service list fast.

A site that ran out of room

The first site was a single page with three short sections. As gates, guardrail, rentals, and wholesale grew, there was nowhere to put them.

“At Flynn, we do fences right.”
