Plumbing
FloTek Plumbing’s Google clicks nearly tripled in five months
FloTek Plumbing has handled drains, sump pumps, and water heaters for homes and businesses around St. Charles, IL since 2015. The site already had plenty of pages, but keyword-stuffed copy, indexing problems, and confusing menus kept most of them out of sight.

What the audit turned up
Menus that got in the way
The service menu was awkward and the dropdowns were long and mislabeled, so visitors had a hard time finding the right service.
St. Charles everywhere
Nearly all of the original copy was stuffed with St. Charles, IL, from headings to meta descriptions, even on pages meant for other towns.
Pages Google couldn’t see
Key blogs and location pages were live on the site but weren’t showing up in search.
Ad budget leaking
Negative keyword lists built up over the years weren’t attached to the live campaign, so competitor names and out-of-area searches were costing money.
What we fixed, and what it did
Each fix lines up with something the audit found. Most of it is invisible until someone nearby searches for a plumber.
A services menu you can use
We replaced the long dropdowns with a grid of clear service buttons on the services page and short subcategories in the menu.
Why it matters: Visitors find the right service faster, and Google can follow the structure too.
City pages that link to each other
In September 2026 we added over 2,000 internal links across city pages, connecting each town to nearby towns, other services, and related blog posts.
Why it matters: No page is stranded, so the whole service area has a shot at ranking, not just the homepage.
Ads with tighter guardrails
We sorted out negative keyword lists and kept ads on the services and towns FloTek wants. Cost per conversion dropped by nearly 70% compared to the previous period.
Why it matters: Fewer wasted clicks on competitor names and towns they don’t serve.
